Morgan cars in Beijing has a new 320m2 home in the heart of the city, within the Gongti Stadium complex with automotive neighbours Lotus Nyo, Sports Car Club of China and just to the north, Bentley. The Workers Stadium ( simplified Chinese: ; traditional Chinese: ; pinyin: Gōngrén Tǐyùcháng), often called Gongti or Gong Ti, is a multi-purpose stadium in the Chaoyang District of north-eastern Beijing, China. It is mostly used for football (soccer) matches. The stadium was built in 1959 and was last renovated in 2004 (the concrete structure was strengthened, a new rotating display screen and energy-saving devices were installed). It has a capacity of 66,161 and covers a land area of 350,000 square meters. It is one of the Ten Great Buildings constructed in 1959 for the 10th anniversary of the People's Republic of China. The lease is for 3 years from the iRena stadium management company. The cost is RMB6.6m per m2, which takes the rental to RMB63,360 per month for 36 months commencing 1st September. We will take over from a shop which sells the official China bicycle team cycles. I hope that our 4 and 3 wheelers will sell better than their 2 wheelers. Morgan will be in units 79-91 on the west side of the stadium, with a wide front which will display 3 cars nicely and house our experience centre. The renovation will cost approximately RMB1,000,000 and take 8 weeks, and will managed by anySCALE. My excitement is tempered by the waiting for the certification from the Administration for Industry and Commerce. Since February our application has been in progress. Apparently it is all approved just pending an official notice, and then for Ministry of Commerce to issue our license. With this we can apply for our import license, and then the business really does begin.
