Bruce is one of those people that one can't help want to spend time with - a deep Glaswegian accent, warm blue eyes and an indefatigable interest in life. Bruce first came to China in 1987 by train on a railway journey from Glasgow (Scotland) to Hong Kong. Five years later, 1992, he was back - working in Guangzhou - and is still here, in Beijing recording the amazing changes and the people who come here to create this amazing place. China - 1987 - bicycles, steam trains and intermediate technology, but signs of change were there. 2012 - world's greatest network of high-speed trains and so much continuing to grow and develop. See his amazing collection of photos on Flickr Here is the 1st of several shows to be broadcast via the Internet on AM 774.  At Manchester University I produced a BBC NorthWest radio show called 'The Buzz.' My cohort  Will Saunders is still at the Beeb and I heard our other co-producer Anna Simons on Rock 97.4 while driving in Lancashire several years back. At the time people commented that I had a great face for radio. Will and Anna were infinitely more talented than me, and their later success proves it. The interview with Bruce is the first time I have heard myself on radio since those heady days of 1999, when we broadcast into the Sunday night airwaves, and pretended that the switchboards were abuzz with callers. Bruce has a magic formula for his shows - energy, insight and the ability to put the interviewee at ease. Beijing radio Beijing radio             Or here:
