Research conducted in 2011 by the British Council and YouGov showed that University students in the UK had mixed views on Globalization, and their roles within it. This is important as an internationally aware and experienced British workforce will sustain the UK economy in the future. Due to the contacts made as a result of my role with the  British Business Awards I was recently asked to be part of an initiative by the British Council, Generation UK. This is a program to encourage young people to travel and work abroad. Generation UK Generation UK Interestingly, students at pre-1992 universities were more likely to believe that they have an international outlook than those at post-1992 universities. Those studying an arts subject were again more likely to see themselves as having an international outlook than those studying the sciences. Having left Manchester University in 1990 with a degree in American studies, statistically I am more likely to have an international outlook - reassuring that I am conforming to the trend. The British Council invited a number of people in the British community living and working in Beijing to encourage young Brits to experience life abroad. The video is appearing on Youtube and Youku. This was produced by Andrew Clark, of Asia Works. Andrew kindly produced the BBA film back in 2008 and is a consummate professional and great fun to work with.
